You may have noticed a new icon . This icon indicates that there is an RSS feed available for the discussion boards that it appears next to. Simply put, these news feeds are designed to help you quickly see what is new in your favorite section of IRW or the whole IRW forum. If you have never used RSS style news feeds, you are about to discover a new way to get your favorite information from IRW and many other sites on the web. If you are familiar with RSS, I am surprised you are reading this post.  Wink

The RSS feed icon is located next to each discussion board. You may also see the icon near the URL in your browser (or at the bottom of your browser), this is the feed icon for all of IRW. These feeds can be accessed by your browser, email client, etc. In news readers, the news feeds appear as messages with the content of the message the related IRW post. News readers and email clients accumulate the feed items similar to email messages.
In browsers, the feed appears as bookmarks showing the last few posts. (See below to learn how to use the RSS feed.)

With other news readers or browsers, I recommend searching the internet with the name of your software and the term RSS, for example: "Internet Explorer RSS"

Subscription steps for Firefox and Thunderbird are listed below.

If you use Firefox these steps will get you started: (Firefox RSS Help)

(Taken from ICW)

   1. Click on the feed icon next to the board of your choice.

   2. Add the feed to your Bookmarks Toolbar by clicking Subscribe Now.

   3. Click Add when prompted to add a new live bookmark.

   4. Notice that when you click on the bookmark titles from several of the recent posts appear.

   5. Select the post title that interests you.

If you use Thunderbird these steps will get you started:

Creating an RSS News & Blogs account:
Before subscribing to an RSS feed, you must create an RSS account.

   1. Go to the File menu and select New -> Account.
   2. Select RSS News & Blogs and click Next.
   3. Enter an account name (for example: RSS News & Blogs) and then click Next and then Finish.

Subscribing to an RSS feed
Subscribe to a feed by right-clicking on RSS News & Blogs and select Subscribe.

In the RSS Subscriptions dialog, click Add, enter the URL (see below) for the news feed, and click OK. The feed will then appear under your RSS News & Blogs account. (Thunderbird RSS Help)
